Open Plugins in ChatGPT and select an ApexGenius plugin shared with you or one you created. Install it if needed, connect when prompted, and authorize the app connections you want it to use. A public ApexGenius plugin listing is not verified. Available plugins and tools depend on your account and workspace. Chat and Work support plugins on web, desktop, and mobile where available. For Codex in the ChatGPT desktop app, see the Codex guide, including its desktop MCP settings fallback. ChatGPT web does not read local Codex configuration.

Create a personal connection

Where your account and workspace permit custom MCP connections:

Enable Developer mode

Open Settings, then Security and login, and turn on Developer mode. If this control is unavailable, check with your workspace administrator.

Open Plugins

In ChatGPT Plugins, select the plus button. Enter ApexGenius and a description. Under Connection, enter https://server.autom8.pro/mcp.

Create and authorize

Create the connection, complete the ApexGenius OAuth prompt, and review the discovered tools. Do not paste an ApexGenius password, token, or Salesforce credential into the configuration.

Start a new chat

Select ApexGenius from the tools menu in a new Chat or Work conversation. The existing setup screenshots document the personal Developer mode path; they do not prove a public listing or your own connection status.

Verify the connection

After connecting Salesforce in ApexGenius, ask:
Check the returned result against the intended Salesforce org or sandbox, and match the successful read in ApexGenius Activity. Installation alone does not verify access.

Before a workspace rollout

  • Review the discovered actions and connection scope.
  • Test the personal connection before sharing or publishing it.
  • Confirm which members or groups may use it.
  • Review write actions separately from reads, and refresh metadata when the server changes.
ChatGPT may request confirmation based on the tool, app permissions, and context. This is a client control, not a universal server-side approval guarantee.
