# How we record your signup source

> What we save when a link brings you to ApexGenius.

When you open a public page, we save how you got there in your browser.
This helps us learn which ads lead to new signups.

We save:

* The first page you visit and the site that sent you.
* Ad tags and click IDs in the link.
* The most recent public page visit.
* The page where you start signup.

The first visit stays the same for up to 90 days.
A later visit updates the most recent visit.
When you sign up, we send these facts with your account details.
We use them to set the source on our sales lead record.

This works with email signup and Sign in with Google.
If your browser blocks storage, some facts may be lost.
Clearing site data removes the saved visits from that browser.
It does not remove facts already sent with your signup.

We do not use these tags to read your connected apps.
