# Connect Upwork

> Authorize Upwork's official hosted MCP server through the ApexGenius private-preview gateway.

Upwork is an ApexGenius private-preview connection. ApexGenius connects to Upwork's official hosted MCP server and does not ask you to create or paste an Upwork API key.

## What you need

* An active Upwork account
* Access to the marketplace actions you intend to use
* ApexGenius private-preview access

## Connect Upwork

1. In ApexGenius, open **Connections**.
2. Select **Upwork**.
3. Choose **Connect Upwork**.
4. Complete the Upwork OAuth flow.
5. Return to ApexGenius and validate the connection.
6. Start with a search before attempting a job, offer, contract, or financial action.

Upwork owns the marketplace permission and confirmation flow. Some binding or financial actions can require completion in Upwork.

  **Private preview.**

  The connection routes through Upwork's official hosted MCP endpoint. ApexGenius still applies its own user ownership, resource boundary, and tool policy around that upstream connection. Compatibility does not imply partnership.
